I’m new to Solid Ground. How do I register for classes?

If it is your first time at Solid Ground, you can take advantage of our “new to Solid Ground” discount -- $40 for unlimited classes for 1 month. You may purchase an unlimited pass in person or online using our registration system. If you plan on purchasing it in person, please arrive at Solid Ground 15 minutes prior to your desired class start time in order to check in at the front desk, purchase your pass, and get familiar with the studio. Before coming in for the first time, we also recommend that new students refer to the questions below to find out what to bring, what to wear, and to get better acquainted with our center. Additionally, please fill out our Enrollment and Waiver Form prior to your first class.

Do I need to make an online reservation for class?

The only way to guarantee your spot is making a reservation. You may make a reservation using the online registration system, which will allow you to reserve your space in class, pay in advance, and find out who is teaching. Please remember that if you reserve your class online, our online system allows you to cancel your reservation up to a half hour before the class is scheduled or your pass will be charged. If you have an unlimited pass, and make a reservation, we ask as a courtesy that you still cancel any class you have reserved to make space for others in our online reservation system.

Online registration closes 4 hours before class start time. If you would like to register during that 4 hour period before class, please just call 897-BEND or email the studio at wanda@solidgroundyoga.com and we are happy to reserve your spot if space is available.

What if I want to make an online reservation but it says the class is full?

You are free to call or drop in to see if space has become available due to a cancellation. We would suggest arriving 5-10 minutes before class is scheduled to begin.

What if I made an online reservation but want to cancel it?

Please cancel your reservation using the online registration system up to 30 minutes before class or your class will be charged. If you have an unlimited pass and reserve - please help us out by canceling if you are unable to attend.

How do I purchase class passes and/or gift certificates?

All Class Passes and Gift Certificates may be purchased in the studio or online. Please arrive 15 minutes early if you plan on purchasing a class pass or a mat before your scheduled class. All class passes are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Be sure to check in at the front desk before entering the studio for class, even if you reserved your space online.

Online reservations can be made up to four hours before class and cancellations can be made up to 30 minutes before class through our online registration system. Online users: if you see a class posted with no "sign up now!!!" link, it doesn't mean the class is full — just that the 4 hour sign-up period has passed. Please call the studio at 897-BEND to see if space is available.

Do you offer discounts at Solid Ground?

What is your event/workshop cancellation policy?

Workshop Cancellation Policy: 48 Hours before the event: If you register for a workshop but are unable to attend please let us know at least 48 hours before the workshop is scheduled to begin for a full refund. If we receive your cancellation less than 48 before the event, we cannot issue a refund; however, if we are able to fill your space with someone from a waiting list we will give you a Solid Ground account credit toward any future Solid Ground purchase.

Does Solid Ground ever cancel events?

Solid Ground events and workshops are occasionally canceled if there is not enough interest. If your event is canceled, you will be notified via email/phone and will receive a full refund.

I’m new to Yoga. What are my options?

Our Intro-Hatha class is designed for students who are new to yoga. This class will prepare you for advancement into our other classes by helping you build strength and flexibility and gain a general understanding of the poses and their names.  New to yoga students should participate in a minimum of 4 (we suggest 8!) introductory classes before moving on to the next level. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 804-897-BEND (2363), and we would be glad to help you with your questions.

I am not very flexible. Can I do yoga?

If you are not very flexible, then yoga is exactly what will help you! In yoga, the postures are combined with breathing and relaxation so that tight muscles can soften and release much easier than with basic stretching. If you practice yoga regularly for even a month or two, you will notice an improvement in your flexibility.

Can Men Do Yoga?

Absolutely. In fact, until very recently, yoga was practiced exclusively by men. But many men are concerned that they will not be welcome in a yoga class or that they are not flexible enough to try yoga. This is a basic misconception: yoga will improve your flexibility, but you do not need to be flexible to do it. Your yoga practice will also help to build strength and endurance and provide options for dealing with stress.

How do I prepare for class?

What do I wear?

Clothing should be comfortable and not restrict movement. Shoes and socks are left in the lobby area just outside of the classroom. Yoga is practiced barefoot. Shorts are perfectly acceptable, but you may want to include compression or bicycle shorts underneath.
